The story of Impact Hub Budapest

Ferenciek tere (2016-2021)

Our local story began in 2014 when a passionate American green building expert moved to Budapest and looked for an Impact Hub to work from and found 5 Hungarian co-founders, coming from diverse backgrounds such as finance, engineering and real estate. This is how our founding team of 6 people finally formed in 2015, and throughout the year, we worked to get the global license and find the ideal space. In March 2016, we opened Impact Hub Budapest on 600 sqms in an iconic and historic building downtown, at Ferenciek tere where it operated until 2021.

Wesselényi utca (2022- )

In 2022, after Covid-19 pandemic and a short period of closing, we found our new home in Wesselényi utca 17. In the downtown of Budapest, where in cooperation with Milestone Institute (link to milestone website) we opened our brand new space directly streetfront. And in 2023 the co-founder team also renewed and became a team of 3 joining forces to build a better world together with our expanding team.

Originally built in 1905 as the Municipal Trade Syndicate of Cobblers’ headquarters, this historic building, designed by György Kopeczek, is now a listed landmark. The first-floor hall, over 200 m², features Art Nouveau decor and stained glass windows by Miksa Róth. Adorned with mosaic ornaments, ironwork, and wrought-iron flagpoles, it is one of Erzsébetváros’s most beautiful public buildings.

Our space

In our newly designed space, you’ll discover a welcoming ground floor offering a spacious coworking and event area, perfect for optimizing your performances and hosting events. Additionally, we provide a cozy lounge and kitchen area, ideal for rejuvenating breaks.

Sink into our comfortable chairs and sofas, or utilize our diverse workshop and meeting rooms to suit your needs. Venture up to the third floor, where tranquility meets productivity in our silent and inviting coworking space. Here, you’ll also find a terrace, providing the perfect backdrop to harness inspiration and creativity.

Our Vision

We always say we have 3 ways of changing the world for the better!

Creating and offering inspiring and modern coworking and event space in a historical setting in downtown Budapest. Besides coworking desks and ergonomic chairs, we offer event spaces for training, workshops and meetings that focus on social or environmental values. Check out our Memberships or Rent our Space!
