What are the real benefits of this traditional art we call yoga and why should we do it regularly?
Our bodies are intricate structures that require basic necessities like oxygen, water, nourishment, and movement. In the course of our busy lives, we often neglect our need for muscle conditioning, stress relief, and relaxation. “The purpose of yoga is to discover our full potential; body, mind and soul. Lessons learned on the mat can be taken with us long after the class. We discover how to face our perceived limitations both physical and mental; how to push past them with both strength and grace. We learn how to build strength and stamina for all life’s challenges and we start to create the space to hear our inner wisdom that can guide us to answers we don’t find in the outside world. Through yoga we detox our bodies, clear our minds and restore internal balance. The perfect practice for our modern world.” says Kate Megee, our expert yoga instructor from the Impact Hub Budapest. According to experts in the field, the physical benefits of yoga include:
Increased muscle strength and tone
Improved respiration, energy and vitality
Increased body awareness
Relief of chronic stress
Maintaining a balanced metabolism
Cardio and circulatory health
Improved athletic performance
Protection from injury
In addition to the physical benefits, one of the best benefits of yoga is helping us to deal with stress, which is known to cause terrible effects on the body and mind. Stress effects our bodies in many ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches, and poor concentration. Yoga can help with all of these symptoms plus providing a more positive outlook on life. Although there are many types of yoga, most of them will have some level of meditation and/or breathing exercises that will also help improve mood, calmness, focus attention, mental clarity, and sharper concentration. The class we will be offering will be a lunch time power yoga class. It will allow you to take a much needed break from your daily work routine and will still give you enough time to grab lunch afterwards. Having at this time will also fuel your anabolic window, which is the 30-minute period after you do some physical exercise that shuttles food and nutrients toward lean muscle mass. Our instructor is not only a certified yoga instructor, but she is also a health coach. Just check out Kate’s website and learn all sorts of interesting things about your health and well-being.
With all these amazing benefits, both mind and body, I will ask the question… Why wouldn’t you do yoga at the Impact Hub Budapest?
